I was thinking of selling my Jeep & curious about the current estimated value. I filled out the online Kelley Blue Book.l questionnaire for my quote to get calculated. I received a call from 3 nearby dealerships. The first call came from Andreas at Phillips Auto. I took his inquiry and since I was not sure about selling it, we arranged to speak again in 6 days’ time while I researched & made up my mind. Much happened in six days. 90% negative. I asked a friend who sold cars on his own. He helped me clean my Jeep and advised what needed to be done to maximize its appeal in photos & even helped with washing & vacuuming the interior & buffing sun faded plastic parts. But he did try to steal my title as well. Then I had offers from family & friends which were way below the KBB estimate. One friend was true about helping connect me with knowledgable Jeep folks but I did not have the time & supplies to beautify my Jeep for a great private sale. In addition, I drove my car to CarMax as AI said the strongest and most transparent offer would be from Carmax. AI is wrong sometimes & was wrong here. Phillips Auto is on PCH across the street from Balboa Bay Resort. I had made an appointment & was so despondent about all responses regarding my Jeep that I canceled my initial 10 am but Andreas was kind about my timidity & didn’t force me to keep our appointment. That made me feel better & we re-scheduled later that day. The best decision I made. It is easy to find the dealership & parking is easy. The bright sunny showroom is clean & inviting with luxury sports cars & friendly greeting when you walk in. Andreas is just as affable when meeting in person. I was introduced to his mentor, Bianca. She is down-to-earth and carries no pretenses. You feel as if you grew up with her. She is the reason I decided to let her have the sale. She leads the vehicle appraisal with a knowledgable and efficient eye and comes prepared with comparable inventory to your car appraisal. The team is transparent and do not rush you. I felt great choosing Phillips Auto to take my Jeep off my hands. The paperwork went quickly since I brought the title & original keys. I know the next driver will be very happy with how Phillips renews the Jeep to a cruise-worthy level like the rest of its inventory. Thank you Phillips Auto. I even got a complimentary Uber ride home. This was my first happy experience at a dealership, including the time I bought my Jeep brand new off the lot elsewhere; even there I felt rushed & taken advantage of. In contrast, Phillips Auto does everything to transition ownership. (All I had to do was cancel my car insurance & even that was disappointing and felt like a rip off. The day I sold my Jeep was the day my insurance coverage was to start for 6 months. The long term agent I have known for decades treated me less kindly than Bianca & Andreas did. Almost half my payment will be absorbed in admin fees & such. ) *Please give Phillips Auto a try. I have nothing but great things to say of my experience.*... More
